Top Number Pairs: Some Numbers Just Seem to Like Each Other

An Insider feature that surfaces the most frequent two-number combinations in draw history

Frequency analysis usually focuses on individual numbers, how often does 23 come up, how long has 41 been absent. But numbers don't appear in isolation. They appear in sets, and across thousands of draws, certain pairs of numbers show up together far more often than chance alone would suggest. The Top Number Pairs section on LottoIQ surfaces exactly that.

How it works

For Insider members, the Top Pairs section identifies the 10 most frequently co-occurring two-number combinations in your selected dataset. Each pair is shown with its co-appearance count and the percentage of draws in which both numbers appeared together. It's a different lens than the frequency heatmap. The heatmap tells you how often a single number has appeared. Top Pairs tells you how often two specific numbers have appeared in the same draw, which captures something a frequency chart alone can't show.

Using pairs in the generator

You can act on the Top Pairs data directly. Lock in one of the listed pairs in the generator and both numbers are guaranteed to appear in your generated set. It's one of the more interesting ways to let the data shape your picks, because you're not just selecting numbers for their individual frequency, you're selecting for a historically observed relationship between them.

Why the dataset toggle matters here

The top pair for a game can look very different depending on which dataset you're viewing. The all-time top pair for Lotto 6/49 may not be anywhere near the top pair in the last 30 draws. Insider members can switch between Last 30, Last 90, and All-time to see how co-occurrence patterns shift over time, which is one reason the dataset toggle tends to be particularly useful alongside this feature.
